Greetings – Donald Trump can help lead America to a new, clean energy future that rebuilds America’s energy infrastructure and provides good paying jobs for virtually all communities across the nation. He has the fortitude and the momentum to make a historical difference. The statement below urging him to address this challenge was published in USA TODAY, on December 12, 2016. We invite you to sign on to this declaration below, promote it through your channels, and donate to help us ensure a healthy and prosperous world for our families and future generations.
– ecoAmerica

Dear President-Elect Trump

We are religious leaders, health and medical professionals, business executives, community leaders, educators, and family members from towns and cities across the nation who, like you, want the best for America and our world. We all want clean, healthy air and water; economic prosperity; and a thriving natural world — for ourselves, our children and grandchildren, and generations to come.
Some Americans view climate change as a divisive issue. We do not accept that. Eighty-three percent of Americans believe climate change is happening; 81% think human activities contribute to it; 89% — including 77% of Republicans — are concerned; and 89% of us want more wind and solar energy.*
Climate change presents you, as America’s 45th President, with an epic challenge and a historic opportunity. You are in a unique position to create millions of good-paying jobs in communities across the nation and reenergize our economy by leading America to a future of clean power, new energy storage systems, and a modern national energy grid. This will make America a leader in the biggest global growth industry of the upcoming decades, and create jobs that cannot be exported.
The threats and opportunities of climate change unite us. The best way to grow our economy is with clean energy solutions. We urge you to honor America’s climate commitments, including the Paris Agreement, and help lead us forward to a new energy future that supports our health, our prosperity, and a secure future.
